Pipe and tube cutting plan

Plan straight pipe sections from the available stock lengths. Include the material removed by your cutting method and any end cleanup allowance. Run different diameters and wall thicknesses separately. Bends, fittings, insertion depths and weld gaps must already be reflected in your finished lengths.

CSV format and example

Open the template in Excel or another spreadsheet editor. Keep the header names length, quantity, label. Enter lengths in the selected units and positive whole quantities, up to 200 parts in total. Names are optional. Save as CSV UTF-8, then import it here. Import replaces the parts list; stock settings stay as entered.

Leave quantity blank for unlimited stock. Add reusable offcuts as finite stock rows. Use only one material and cross-section per order.

CSV columns: length, quantity, label (optional). Lengths use the selected units. Import replaces the parts list.

Enter positive lengths and whole quantities, up to 200 parts. Every part must fit after both end trims. Kerf and trim must be zero or positive.

Cutting plan

The planner searches for a complete layout using less total stock length, then fewer stock pieces. Its bounded search may miss a better layout. Check dimensions, blade kerf and material before cutting.

Choose the matching paper size, use 100% scale and turn off browser headers and footers. Save as PDF from your print dialog if available.

How to use it

Enter the stock lengths and available quantities, blade kerf and end trim. Add each part length, quantity and optional name, or import a CSV. Calculate, check the offcuts, then print the workshop sheet. Save an order file to move it to another browser.

How are kerf and end trim counted?

End trim is removed from both ends of each stock piece. Between parts, a cut consumes the blade-width kerf. At the stock end, only the material remaining beyond the finished part is removed, up to one kerf; an exact fit needs no cut. Parts, kerf, trim and offcut are counted separately.
